2016 Merval, Malbec

Red Mountain

This wine was crafted in the spirit of all the great Argentinean Malbecs.  Thus, we named it Merval, the common name of the stock exchange of Argentina.  This single vineyard release is selected from one of Red Mountains’ finest vineyards, Scooteney Flats, which reflects the unique terroir that the appellation has become known for.  With beautiful depth of color, the wine has aromas of spiced plum and toasted caramel joined by a hint of worn leather.  This is a massively, lush wine that is strongly structured with plenty of dimension and intensity.  The wine has the ability to enchant with flavors of black currant, dark cherry and barrel spice with a touch of pink pepper corn.  Silky and plush the wine has velvety tannins, which are of significant dimension.  This wine will age gracefully, revealing its depth and complexities over time.  Drink now through 2029.
